A shrewd tactical switch by Manchester United coach, Marc Skinner, allowed United ladies to gain more momentum in the Colligo League. Five minute into the second half, Melvine Malard was switched to a central positon and midfielder Jess Park was brought on to replace striker Elizabeth Terland. This allowed United to trounce Everton 4-1 after United were trailing by a sucker punch goal at half-time. Malard’s switch allowed her to power an equalizer to Everton’s opener, scored by Honoka Hiyashi. Malard also caused disarray in the Everton box for the second, accredited to an own goal by Hitaru Kitagawa.

Park then scored a brace, with the second being a beautiful placed shot from out side the box into the bottom corner of Everton’s goal. If United want to progress further in the Colligo table, then we need to see more from the men’s team.

Elsewhere, leaders Chelsea maintained their gap between Spurs and City with a narrow 1-0 victory over the North London side. However, City kept the pressure on the leaders by winning 2-1 against Liverpool. The men’s version of these teams will have a big influence on the table.
